How much do you charge to build a website?

There’s not one single, easy answer to this question. A website design is quoted based on the scope and needs of each individual website project. Every website is unique and requires different components; I design and develop custom websites specifically for your business. I’ll ask a lot of questions, assess your needs, and give you a price quote based on that assessment. The basic package starts at around £995 and this includes the custom web design, competitor and keyword research and on-page search optimisation (SEO). How long will it take to complete my website?

As with the above, this is dependent on the project however my standard timeline is 3-4 weeks to complete a website project but this depends on the project since the size and pace of any project is set by each client. How much input you can provide during the initial stages, your feedback, how soon the content is provided – all this affects the speed of completion. The functionality and revisions required will also play a role in your timeline.

Do I have to be in Sutton Coldfield, Solihull or Birmingham to work with you?

No. Although the majority of my clients are local to Sutton Coldfield, Solihull or Birmingham, I work with clients all over the Midlands and UK. We can communicate by email, video chat and scheduled calls.

Will I be able to update the site myself when it's finished?

Yes. I love it when my clients take control of their website and learn to manage the content on their own. You will have full access to the backend of your new website to make simple text updates, photograph changes, new products and pricing can easily be changed on your own. However, I do recommend a professional (developer) to complete more complex changes and maintenance such as plugin updates, design or structure changes, and complex functionality requirements. As part of your web design package, I provide one free hour of training and a short manual on how to update your website.

Can you maintain our website for us?

I can certainly help maintain your website, or you can do so yourself. The choice is yours. I provide on-going support for a number of clients but it is not mandatory and you will not be charged a monthly fee unless you want a monthly website maintenance contract. Alternatively, please contact me as you require ad-hoc updates to your website and I will provide either an hourly rate or a project quote based on your requests.

Do you provide website hosting and domain?

I can help you with both hosting and domain but do not host websites myself. After the initial set up, you will be responsible for relationship with the website hosting and domain companies. This will ensure that you will have full access to your website.

Will my website be mobile-friendly?

Absolutely! Having a mobile-friendly website is more important than ever. I work hard to ensure your website is responsive on modern devices and browsers.

How much input do I have in the website design process?

A lot! Your input and feedback is crucial to this website design and development process. I’ll start with a lot of questions about your needs, your likes, your wants and work with you to develop just the right look and functionality. I also request you to provide sample websites before we begin your project. Remember this is your website and I need your help and direction as to your final vision. We’re a team and look forward to hearing your ideas.

Who writes the text/content for the website?

I require that you provide all of the text content for your website. You are the expert on your business, so it’s always best if it comes from you. If you need assistance, I can suggest a copywriter on who can help clean up or write original content for you at an additional cost.

Is SEO included in my website build?

I always build my websites on best practice SEO principles, however, the build of your website does not include on-going monthly SEO. All items that I add to your website including text, photos and video can be seen by Google and I will optimise this for you but that doesn’t mean you will automatically rank number one on Google! I do, however, provide additional SEO services and a monthly SEO contract so I'm ready to assist with all your SEO needs!

Do you work with new and small businesses?

Can you help with sourcing high-quality photos for me?

If required, I can assist you in finding free stock images from websites such as Pexels, Unsplash or Pixabay. Your assistance and direction will be required to find the perfect images, photographs, graphics, vectors for your website and your brand.
