City College Birmingham student Moodle

Moodle is a course management system - designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. It can scale from a single-teacher site to a 50,000-student University.

City College has made the decision to move to Moodle from WebCT and I have been asked the brand the site, install and configure the necessary third-party plug-ins needed to further develop the product and a lot more besides.

We have chosen to use two instances of Moodle. One for staff to use both as a familiarization stepping stone before they present their courses to students and for delivering online staff training. The other Moodle is the live student Moodle which all students are granted access to once they are enrolled.

Again, this is part of the wide SOLE initiative delivering a full range of online services to students at City College.
