City College Birmingham staff intranet
With the technological advancements and increased user demands over the past three years, it was decided to develop a new staff intranet. One that would embrace the many changes in web technology and satisfy the increasing demands of the end user.
Whilst the previous portal site had, at the time, met its brief, their was now an identifiable need for something new, something that would prove to be a massive step forward.
Due to the nature of the College network, it was decided to go with Microsoft Sharepoint. After months of testing, planning and development the new intranet was finally rolled out on February 1st.
The college's staff Intranet is built entirely with Oracle 9iAS Portal technology. This was quite a departure from my usual methodology but the site has proved a massive success with the vast majority of the staff and has the potential to revolutionize that workings of the college.
