Museums, Libraries and Archives Council
The MLA website reflects the aims and culture of the restructured MLA as a strategic business–to–business organisation, driving improvement and innovation.
Key users of the website are local government chief executives, local government heads of culture and equivalent, chief librarians, head archivists, museum curators and museum directors, national cultural bodies, fundraisers, policy-makers and sector journalists.
Although the site is primarily business to business, it provides sign posting to other appropriate sources of information so that members of the public can obtain information to answer their enquiries.
After joining the MLA as their full time web manager in November 2008, I oversaw the tail-end of the transition from their old CMS to their new Sitecore CMS.
Following a brand re-fresh and a desire to drive forward the next stage of development the aim was to further refine the previous website, with the benefit of twelve months operation, and to add greater levels of functionality. The current MLA website was launched in May 2010.
